The overall point I'm making is that when you use your office to take away a lot of money, and then donate back an amount of money that seems like a lot but is 1) a tiny amount compared to what you're trying to take away, and 2) an even tinier amount of compared to your own wealth, it's hard to see this gesture as anything but a transparent PR move.
I don't know anything about you, but if you earned say, 50k a year then proportionately (from a percentage point of view) you're donating about as much as Trump is.
It's definitely a good gesture that you're donating $10, but did you expect any praise for it, or should we all pat you on the back for it? Would it even touch the sides of your overall worth as a human being?
No, I don't expect any praise. I doubt most people do. Trump probably does want everyone to know about his donation. Anyway, I hope the flood victims get as much money as they need to get back to normalcy soon. ---
