Only 17 percent of homeowners in the eight counties most directly affected by Harvey flood insurance policies, according to a Washington Post analysis of Federal Emergency Management Agency data.

Criiiipes

Not surprising, my area is a "near impossible" place to get flood insurance due to being below sea level and on the coast of a great lake. Basically if I wanted flood insurance added to my current home owners insurance policy, it would cast almost twice as much as it does now. All that despite the fact that my area hasn't been flooded in about a million or so years.
