You can kill alot more people then you write down, by controlling the actions of people before they die (and having them kill many others). No more N Korea for instance or any other oppressive rulers, you could take out the entire regime by making the current leader order all their deaths before he finally dies (doing that for all of them on the same day). That would be just a start though. Given enough time, someone with a real death note could end up preventing most crime in the whole world, and cause humanity to actually share and care for each other for the first time in history.
