Now why are we not removing all Lincoln statues? He supported the Fugitive Slave Act (which gave blacks even less rights, and anybody could claim ownership of a free black person) when he was running for President, and he supported the original 13th Amendment. The purpose of this original 13th Amendment was to make it illegal for congress to interfere with slavery in the South, virtually guaranteeing it would last forever. And when General Hunter declared the freedom of 100,000 slaves in Florida, Lincoln decided to reverse hat order, because his ego prevented others from claiming his prize. And dont forget his plan of shipping all free slaves to British colonies just to get rid of them.
But hey, lets whitewash him into being a nicer person instead because it look better in the history books.
Might as well go ahead and remove any monuments to Washington and Jefferson and the majority of the founding fathers while we’re at it. ---
