Does everyone learn English there? It seems like anyone from there has perfect English.
Lots of people learn English as a second language. It is not only the 3rd most spoken language in the world, but also the most widespread. Chinese (the first) is limited to China and a few neighboring countries while Spanish is mostly in South America and Spain. English is literally all over the place.
Yeah, that makes sense. My grandparents didn't speak it until they were teenagers, apparently, which seems weird given their borderline-abandonment of their first language before I was born. My dad and his siblings only spoke English as a result and I feel ripped off...
