You mean bootleg moonshine w the poison comment. (Although our bodies regard all alchol and other substances as toxins and expel those first),

I should point out that white whiskey- aka moonshine is now regulated and legal and subject to the same standards as any other alcohol when sold legally regardless of the alcohol content. Which like many burbons mezcals or other hard liqs can be higher than 40% easy.

So while you might get unregulated improper concoctions w bootleg moonshine- same could be said of any bootleg alcohol but now that you can get white whiskey (aka moonshine) at any store and many former illegal distillers now legitimized and sold and marketer legally. That's not even a concern.

Well- then again. Counter-point. Jose questions isn't actually tequila yet it's regulated and aold so....
