I had LASIK done 5 years ago, vision is still great. Didn't even have a strong prescription (my worst eye was - 3.5). Best money I've spent on myself. Worth it to not have to wear glasses or contacts.

The only real downside is that now I do get dry eyes and need to use eye drops with some regularity. I also live in a fairly dry climate. It might not be an issue in humid places.

Probably not, I don't really like the idea of anything touching my eyeball. Also why I would never wear contacts.

Thankfully I have almost 20-20 vision so hasn't been a concern yet.

No one actually touches your eyes. It's all done remotely with lasers. And they give you valium if you're nervous, and it's a confusing but overall happy experience. I mostly remember how nice it was they had cookies in the office and how ugly the recovery glasses were.
