I know I'm in the extreme minority, but Inside Out is my least favorite. I haven't seen The Good Dinosaur though. Never liked Cars, and I dislike Toy Story 1 for its awful graphics, skipped 2, was ok with 3.

Inside Out was just boring. The emotions had so many opportunities to return the memory, but simply didn't. It never explained Sadness's sudden compulsion to turn all the memories sad. It felt like it was going to build up to Joy accepting that she needs to let the others have control sometimes to balance things out, but nope. There wasn't really any threat, not to Reilly or the emotions, the entire movie was basically "Girl is sad for a bit" that's all. There's no indication that the emotions could be deleted/forgotten. Plus, the emotions have emotions of their own... If there was ever any characters that should be one dimensional, it's these, and they fail at it. Joy says she can't turn the memory back from being sad, yet later we see her swapping it between both out of boredom, as if she had control of the sadness as well. Joy caused more harm than good by being overbearing and controlling, and not even considering listening to sadness.

I kept waiting for the hook, for things to get interesting, but it never came. The movie was over before it built any connection at all, and just fell flat for me.
