Is it fake news when a CNN representative literally says he apologized only after CNN called him? Or when they say they have his information and they're not going to release it since he made a sincere apology? Or when they said that they will release his information after stating that they know how much it would ruin his life and his family if he makes another meme?

This is fake news though?

Your first part "he apologized only after CNN called him".

What's wrong with that? Guy made a gif. Got contacted by the target and apologized.

And a media outlet's job is literally to investigate who is behind shit. The fact they're not release any info at all is surpsrising, to say the least.

So we're supposed to believe the anti-Semitic, racist, Muslim hating asshole who routinely makes stupid memes got contacted by CNN and said "it was really mean that you made a meme that Donald Trump posted on his Twitter and now we all feel threatened by it!" And he just went "You're right and I feel bad."?

You think it's more likely than CNN going "Hey dude, we have your information, we know everything you've said, and we're thinking about revealing your information public, but that can change if you are able to seem sorry about it"? Come on dude.

You admit that you know CNN is trash journalism and you can't see past their obvious media double speak?

I think that for stupid reasons, the CNN wrestling gif became a huge story. CNN found out the identity of the gif's creator and contacted him for comment. Realizing that, as a shitposting troll, his anonymity is the only reason he gets away with posting half the shit he does, he overreacted, apologized and asked CNN to keep his name a secret. CNN agreed to this because the guy's identity really isn't important to the "story", but clarified (using extremely poor language) that if his identity DID become important, they might reveal it at a later date. This innocuous comment was misinterpreted by the right, who love painting themselves as victims, and now we have the blow-up against CNN for "doxxing" a 15-year-old (a detail that was a lie, by the way, to make CNN look even worse.)

The right's interpretation is that CNN is SO petty that they would threaten to dox a guy over a lame gif. CNN may be stupid for making a story out of this in the first place, but c'mon now. This is like claiming Hillary Clinton had Seth Rich murdered after hacks and leaks he allegedly committed had already occurred. It just makes no logical sense unless you want to demonize liberals.
