The point you are missing is that people come is all shapes and sizes. Prime example is I have wide shoulders. The breadth of my shoulders are wider than a single plane seat. As it is I buy window seats and lean into the wall so my shoulder doesn't touch the person next time. Should I have to buy two seats. What if it was a woman with wide hips. Should she have to buy two because her hips spill over. Its foolish. The root cause is that the airline tries to jam as many people as possible to make the most amount of profits from a flight. The seats are too small for everyone.
