If your not going with anyone, try and find someone to meet up with. Going to this things alone can be pretty dull, with lots of waiting. You can bring a book/hand held games etc, but having friends there is a much better solution. Sounds like a few people from the board is going this year, maybe you all can meet up.

Sadly I don't live nearby anymore so I won't be there.

Scope the area around the convention for good places to eat or even just kick back and chat etc, especially if you don't like crowds as it can get pretty intense/crowded and having somewhere to go and relax a bit is great (closer then your hotel). I generally always find good places to eat before traveling, it's pretty easy now to do that with the internet (so plan out what you want to eat or at least have a few choices). I believe there is a Brazilian Steak house fairly close, which is delicious if expensive.

Along with the above, bring plenty of stuff to do while waiting, books are great, a handheld game will help a ton as well etc. If you do end up going alone, this is especially important. The few times I have gone alone though, even having books etc, made the trip not nearly as much fun.

If you like anime they at least have had a bunch of anime movies set up in the past for people to kick back and watch which is pretty cool as well. Do your research before going and get an idea what events you want to see in advance (timing is everything).

Have fun!!!
