I've considered it, but I never bothered either due to the start times not lining up right, nothing else I want playing at the time, movie fatigue, or the fact that I've been with other people who would object.

I somewhat wonder what the penalty would be if caught. I assume you'd be ejected for starters, but I'm wondering if they'd try to make you pay, try to ban you, or try to call the cops.

It's something that I'm shocked doesn't happen more often. It's free reign once you get past the ticket counter.

I'm sure it does, but it's probably also somewhat policed.

tbh, most people don't go alone. I've only gone alone to a handful of films over the years and that was mostly because I was doing a matinee to save money. Back in college for instance, there were one or two semesters where I had mostly night classes so I'd be going to the movies before 11am which was when everybody else was in class.
