I invited my future DM and his wife over for dinner tomorrow. Going to BBQ some boneless skinless chicken thighs and make some Argentinian Shrimp to go with it (along with some steamed brocolli and rice).

Should be a nice night. I like both of them and have enjoyed chatting with them in the past. May start having bi-weekly
dnd sessions at my home (on sundays for 4 hours a pop), so it's a good chance for them to get to see it.

I don't really like 5th edition though, it simplified everything waaay to much, so I basically made new rules for my character for the DM to go over (making it more complicated again lol).

Aiming at having him be a Q-staff using Barbarian that uses the staff defensively, giving him a similar defensive stance as having a mace + shield (same damage options). Basically 1d6 damage normally with +2 AC from defensive bonus, but when he rages, he looses the 2 AC and gets the versatile bonus damage of the staff (1d8).

Way less damage then other options, but a bit more defensive. He only uses leather armor though and doesn't have a huge dex, so he still won't be that great of a tank.

We start at level 3 though, so I went with Totem warrior/bear which should give him resistance at least, which will help him tank a bit better. The DM's wife is playing a cleric as well, so at least some healing will be available.

Anyway can't wait till dinner tomorrow:)
