I'm started to think Zack Snider was to blame for the previous ones.

That's always been one of the more likely assumptions. The general problem is that, even if he's removed from the equation, their desperation to do a multi-property franchise means that even newer movies are going to be at least somewhat rooted in the groundwork he already established.

In a lot of ways, he poisoned the well for anyone who comes after him barring a straight-up reboot (which they seem utterly unwilling to even consider right now).

In theory, multiple really strong films could minimize that damage and steer the ship into a new course, but there are a LOT of other factors involved with Warner Bros in general that would make that very hard to pull off.

I thought it was common knowledge at this point that he's a hack. They need to let him go.

Technically speaking, he's let himself go now due to family issues:

That being said, he's still 90+% responsible for the tone/narrative/overall flow of the Justice League, so it's not as if his influence is going to stop any time soon. And that's assuming that they don't wind up bringing him back again in a few months/years once he's got his own issues in order.
