The rise of China, I guess China's rising no matter what happens with the US, because of a number of inevitable social and economic factors. In fact, a lot of the problems the US is facing right now are due to the global economy and factors entirely outside the control of any US President or Congress, and which there really isn't a "fix" for. In a sense, the US has been benefiting from disproportional success for a number of reasons for decades now, and the check is starting to come due.
