the issue in my mind is mostly that having huge numbers of superdelegates stating who they're backing from day 1 is going to influence the voting patterns significantly, by discouraging turnout among those supporting the other guy, and encouraging turnout for those supporting the endorsed candidate

the other stuff seems small, but all SDs have to do is hold off on endorsing until the end of the campaign

dem primary had such low turnout that the influence here is definitely significant and i dont think it'd be a big deal for the SDs to hold off until then. obama/warren did.
