| Topic | Damn it I got infected with a virus and need help. |
| Claude_Frollo 05/04/17 10:21:55 PM #1: | It was one of those things that locks your window and claims you have to call a number for Microsoft tech support because you've been infected with a virus with spyware and your credit card info is at risk. The phone number is phony(heh heh), of course, and they try to scam you by getting you to pay money for their assistance. So instead of calling the bullshit phone number I call the ACTUAL Microsoft tech support to verify that it's a hoax. They said it was and then told me to rid myself of the virus(it keeps popping up and blocking me from Chrome) I'd have to pay them money. Which was weird, it felt like THEY were scamming me in trying to help me deal with the people scamming me. I am in no position to pay money for something the people of the Internet can help me with.
