I've legitimately considered making a Top ___ Worst Things Subway Customers Do ranking to deal with frustration from that job. as for this: The default rule is 3 jalapenos and olives per 6 inch. New employees will probably do exactly that. Older employees will give extra olives by default (because who the fuck wants 3 olives) but hold off on jalapenos. You have to realize, about 80% of Subway customers are fucking morons who, even if they ask for jalapenos, will throw a tantrum if there are too much. And it's a LOT easier to add more on when asked than it is to put on too much for someone and then either backing down or remaking the whole sandwich, depending on just how bad the customer is. I've legitimately had a woman request I change my gloves because I touched salami.
