I'm scratching my head at the people on Twitter that are saying Fox News is being bullied by the liberal media for doing this. It's like they are purposely ignoring the fact that he paid out 13 million to 5 (?) women for sexual harassment. Regardless if you watch Fox, CNN, or MSNBC, sexual harassment is sexual harassment.

O'Reilly was still pulling in huge ratings for Foxnews. It was only after several advertisers wandered off that he got shitcanned.
There's no (or very little) politics to it at all.

Whatever politics may or may not have been involved, it would have been hitting the advertisers rather than Fox. To be fair, usually when these controversies surrounding a politically-inclined figure arise, it's more the political opposition trying to pressure advertisers, the station, etc, which ties into the selective outrage culture. That said, with all the settlements, I'm just surprised that he wasn't acknowledged years earlier as being too much of a liability for Fox to keep around but, given how many people at Fox have had problems regarding sexual harassment at this point, I guess it might not actually be *that* surprising.

In the case of Erik's beloved Bill O'Reilly, I'm sure that Bill will just go solo or something like that other Fox guy did. There are so few high-profile conservative pundits that they tend to have better longevity than their liberal counterparts.
