Topic	Can someone, anyone explain to me why people debate so much on trivial topics

Of the thousands of people I have come across in almost 20 years online, I've met like five personally. I don't discount people on the internet, but I also don't take anything too seriously. Due to anonymity, anyone can be anyone, so there's no sure way to know you are or aren't talking to the "real" person. So why invest more than a passing desire to converse with someone if it doesn't matter in the end. --- I think I need a drink.
