Trivial in the sense that it doesn't affect your daily life

Abortion
Gay marriage
Bathrooms

These are 3 prime examples. People will argue until the end of time about these issues and no one will ever change anyone's mind. These 3 topics are huge deals to those who are affected every day by them, sure, but most people? nah

Most people's daily lives aren't impacted whatsoever by any of the above, and yet so many of those people will dedicate themselves to arguing their position time and time again

Why do people get so sucked into these topics when there are so many other more important things that actually do affect us? Is this the design? We argue about shit that does not affect us while they bend us over in areas that do? Damn, answered my own topic. Should just delete but I'll post so I can read it again if I ever get confused again

Because people care about those topics and are aware it effects other people and their heads aren't up their ass so they actually care about the rights of people other than themselves?

Circumcision
Pineapple on pizza

are two big contenders too. I think it's two types of people. People bored (for whatever reason) and people addicted to thinking they're right.

But I admit to having fun trolling pineapple on pizza threads, because some days I am bored when I have a slow day at work.

Well and it's the nature of the beast; the internet. Of the thousands of people I have come across in almost 20 years online, I've met like five personally. I don't discount people on the internet, but I also don't take anything too seriously. Due to anonymity, anyone can be anyone, so there's no sure way to know you are or aren't talking to the "real" person. So why invest more than a passing desire to converse with someone if it doesn't matter in the end.
