To play devil's advocate it's clear what he means.

He just phrased it so badly both denying chemical weapons and "holocaust centers" I think he just got flustered.

Feels weird defending Spicer because he's so out of his depth it's comical but these feels like textbook "Gotcha!" media reaction to poor wording rather than actually doing something horrible.

But what the fuck was the point of his comment even it is technically true? It is also true Hitler killed millions of people with chemicals. "Yeah, but he never dropped it on them from the sky" is such a meaningless statement. His only possible point could be that Syria is worse that Hitler and that is questionable to say the least. I didn't even know there was a "murdering your own people" Olympics that one needed to win to be considered bad.
