Most of the time things do not transpire to what we've witnessed in this incident. I'm sure the airline regrets what has happened (too little too late, though) I'm not an aviation expert, but I do know that airlines operate under small margins and consistently overbook flights to compensate for no shows. Jet fuel alone on any given flight costs thousands.
