Fucking great. And you know what, I'm real sick of them all promising it's just airstrikes. Like that somehow makes it ok to just start bombing another country? The US needs to sit the fuck down when it comes to other countries' internal conflicts.
Well to be fair, a country using chemical weapons is in violation of international law, and also the political settlement we reached with Syria under Obama. They were supposed to hand over all of their chemical weapons and the US was going to leave them alone. Now they broke our trust, so I think some punitive action is necessary.
We don't want to repeat Obama's "red line" error.
I don't even fully believe it was Assad who used the chemical weapons to be honest. He was winning, Russia was backing him, the US wasn't getting involved, he had no real reason to do something that he knows would bring an immense level of international attention and scrutiny on him.
Well that requires some evidence. Almost every source I've seen has placed the responsibility for the attack on the government, except unsurprisingly, Assad and Russia. ---
