It is absurd to suggest that youtubers and athletes are more valuable to society than doctors and scientists. It is an inefficiency of a capitalist system. The difference is that Youtubers - like pro athletes, actors, musicians, and other entertainers - create a product that can be consumed by millions of people simultaneously, whereas doctors can only cater to one person at a time. Scientists *can* serve millions at once, but on a much slower time scale and with a much larger supporting cast, which dilutes their "cut". Besides, would you rather the large corporations that buy ad time on Youtube keep their money?
