Excadrill doesn't seem that OP, but okay I guess. I don't really "do" the competitive scene, so I guess I just don't understand why.
Its speed doubles in sand, it has access to Swords Dance, an attack stat on par with Metagross' and it can negate a weakness temporarily with balloon.
All sounds great until you realize it has weaknesses to water, ground (w/o balloon) and fire and is both frail and generally predictable. Good but not uber was the general consensus when I stopped playing.
The second-most surprising part of my little trek through the current scene: Chandelure is UU now. I'd have called you mad if you'd told me that when the games came out.
