well if you make it competitive it's more likely to stifle interest from new artists (since when they see the topic they'll see a bunch of established artists drawing in all of the topics and assume that they can't just join out of the blue, or be less likely to submit their drawings if they don't want them to be critiqued and compared to people like fr0q)
and I also have 0 interest in competing with anyone, although I have a lot of interest in just drawing for fun
so yeah
