#37:

So I continue moving up the base, taking out random thugs who have no Shadow Pokemon and are pretty unremarkable. Taking the lead are Regaro, Socko, Articuno the Furret (he has big dreams), and Orochimaru the Yanma. I also find one revive in a chest, which is like a kick to the groin in a Nuzlocke run. It also turned out to be a bit of FORESHADOWING.

At the top of the building I find Silva, who got the crap beaten out of him by Miror B.'s guards. He turns out to be entirely good, and thought that rushing recklessly into the evil team's building without any coordination with the other good guys would be a good idea. Anyway, the two guards attack back to back.

The 1st guard has a water theme, and is pretty easy. I lead off with Socko and Articuno. Remember this, it is important. She also has a shadow Remoraid that is strangely underleveled (it is level 20). Her Pokemon are never really a threat, and although they do bring Articuno down to low yellow health, I am able to snag Pram the Remoraid with relative ease.

Next up is the 2nd guard, and since I get no rest in between, I have to waste a turn switching out the injured Articuno. She leads with an Aipom and a beastly shadow Mantine. Their combined Astonish and Bubblebeam proves to be dangerous, and I try to be cautious with my team while trying to whittle down Mantine's health. Unfortunately, Aipom's flinch-hax Astonish combined with Mantine's Bubblebeam prove to be the end of Orochimaru the Yanma, bringing him from full health to death in one turn. Socko, Regaro, and Suor manage to defeat Aipom, but the Furret that replaces it is just as annoying. After 3 Great Balls I still haven't snagged it, and Socko and Suor are in dire shape, so I'm forced to put down the Mantine, resulting in my first failed snag. The Mantine's replacement is a Yanma, and I curse at her for rubbing Orochimaru's death in my face. Fortunately, without her powerful Mantine, I manage to defeat her with no further casualties.

After sending the guards packing and saving Silva, Miror B. taunts me on television, and I vow to find him in his cave and save Duking's Plusle. The cave's guard is a pushover compared to the last battle, and I acquire Scud the Qwilfish! Hooray for obscure Johto Pokemon! I bet you forgot it even exists.

I venture inside the cave a bit and take on a few trainers. With Articuno and Scud recieving the bulk of the experience (even though they don't actually get experience yet, just lower their evilness), I'm able to make some decent progress. The final trainer I face for now surprises me with a Hoenn shadow Pokemon, and Raka Putra the Meditite is assimilated.

Boss incoming soon! Super Bowl commercials may cost millions, but I charge NOTHING for your names!
