I can't emphasize how bad the first season is enough, I really can't. You're going to see a few more blatant nods (ripoffs) and none of them are going to live up to what you remember from TOS.
"The Naked Now" is pretty abysmal but "Justice" gives it a run for its money too.
Things get so much better, augh. At the same time, the writers are going to find far better ways to carry the TOS torch.
