Well, one of the major book-only characters will indeed be making an appearance in ME3, at any rate. And The Illusive Man and Aria are two ME2-introduced characters that were originally introduced in a book and a comic respectively, if you want to get uber-technical about things.

Who's making an appearance?
I remember that one of the new party members was originally called something Sanders, but I thought they changed that (and I couldn't figure out how that made sense). I haven't been keeping up with the news very much, trying to minimize spoilers.
