Well Karpyshyn is definitely better at writing video games than he is at writing novels. I don't think I've ever met anyone who has claimed otherwise. But in my opinion, the first three books were actually OK. Not... prize-winning, but OK.
I meant videogame books in general. Like I see a million Halo books, and just kind of assume that it's a quick cash in based on the franchise. Same with pretty much every videogame book.
Oddly enough, I've heard good things.
I don't really know the Halo universe very well though (kind of surprising given my love for sci-fi and video games, I guess) so I can't comment.
