Fun Fact: In the opening of Spring Fever, Todd points out a tall mountain that is Articuno's home. This mountain is, on the outside, the same as Articuno's home in The Power of One. (YAY Continuity!)

Articuno was one of the very first pokemon to blow my mind as a kid. When me and my cousin played the games for the first time, we made a lot of stupid choices, like both picking Squirtle, Omanyte, and Vaporeon. He was farther in the game than me and knocked his Articuno out and saved, a mistake that we didn't even know was a mistake at the time. The prospect of only having one chance at a pokemon was both infuriating and amazing at the same time. Needless to say I learned from his mistake and caught my own. However, since I was something 7 at the time, I had no idea Zapdos and Moltres existed or that it was sort of frowned upon to use Legendaries to beat the game, so away I went roflstomping Lance with my Blizzarding Articuno with ALL THE PP UP it could handle! Designwise, Articuno is pretty awesome, and a top 5 Legendary. I really wish I could put it higher, because top 30% doesn't really do it justice, but you guys were pretty good at picking out my favorites. In a ranking of all 649, Articuno would most likely be in the top 100. Although that doesn't sound very impressive, considering the number of Pokemon there are now, that's about in the top 15%.
