Just a quick note, if you didn't get your noms in, it's because you didn't read the rules I posted. I asked users to nominate one pokemon from each gen, in order to give a good spread. Therefore, there are 20 pokemon from each generation on this list.
100. Huntail
Originally Nominated By: TheCodeisBosco First Appeared in: Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire Gen. 3 Ranking: 20 Fun Fact: If you look at Huntail and Gorebyss, their tails resemble the other's face
To be honest, if I had done a 649 ranking, Huntail wouldn't have been dead last, but it's bottom 20 material without a doubt. It's pretty ugly and it's evolution makes no sense. Granted I'm not a big IRL biology guy, so maybe there is some logic behind a clam becoming a big ugly eel, but I like my pokemon evolutions to sort of make sense. I'm probably also a tad bitter about this thing because of how difficult it was in RSE to get. I only ever played Emerald, but my pokedex stopped at 369 thanks to events, Lugia, Ho-Oh, Gen 2 Starters, Latias and Huntail(as you could only obtain the Deepseascale or Deepseatooth in the Gen 3 games). At least Latias, Ho-Oh and Lugia were legendary pokemon, so I could respect their rarity, and I could have got at least one of the gen 2 starters if I got Huntail and Latias, but Huntail is just another ugly trophy NU tier pokemon. I guess I could have transfered all my rare pokemon to FR or purchased a copy of Sapphire, but I had already played through FR three times to get Entei, Raikou, and Suicune, so I wasn't in much of a mood to spend that much time and/or money to get two pokemon I don't really like. I can respect a trophy pokemon when it's cute or useful, but when it's boxed and forgotten like Huntail, it should just be everywhere.
On a side note: what was Nintendo's infatuation with rare eelish pokemon in Gen 3. Huntail and Gorebyss were both pretty hard to get, and Milotic was an absolute chore. Couldn't they have varied it a little bit?

I always liked Gorebyss more than Huntail. I even EV trained one in Emerald and used it to some success in the Battle Frontier. I wonder how much better it is with Shell Smash...
Originally nominated by: WhiteLens First Appeared in: Pokemon Gold/Silver Gen 2 Rank: 20/20 Fun Fact: It's the only non-grass (non-Smeargle) pokemon that can learn Ingrain
Let me just say right now that I do not inherently dislike water pokemon, there's just so damn many of them that there are quite a few at the bottom of the barrel (and quite a few at the top as well). To me Corsola is one of the more forgettable pokemon. Every generation is absolutely riddled with water types and when you're an ugly pink rock, you tend to sink to the bottom of the pool. To be honest I have a hard time enjoying a lot of pokemon that don't evolve to or from something (although, some of my favorites fit that criteria, but a lot more I just forget about), making Corsola even more difficult to remember. Add in the fact that we already had this fully evolved type combination twice before G/S and even twice after, and it's kind of difficult not to overlook unless you're actively trying. This could all be forgiven if it looked cool, but this thing looks like someone painted a Chansey with Watercolors and before the painting dried a 5 year old came over and smeared it all around. I guess I understand what happened here, because Gamefreak tends to make most of their pokemon based off of something IRL, and I can't imagine a coral type pokemon looking any better than this. Apparently it's got a decent movepool which is just Gamefreak's way of trolling any potential fans of it because according to Smogon it's "beaten by almost everything in the game, baring Luvdisc." Apparently Misty got one after I stopped watching the anime, so this marks the first pokemon that a main character had.
Edit: Damnit, I forgot I was going to make a Courage the Cowardly Dog reference and say that little sea people wouldn't be able to repair the Corsola, but now it's ruined.

From: Raka_Putra | #009 I had a Lv. 100 Corsola...
I've literally bothered handleveling one pokemon to 100 and I can assure you it wasn't Corsola.
97.Skitty Originally Nominated by: PrinceKaro First Appeared in: Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire Gen 3 Ranking: 19/20 Fun Fact: It can breed with Wailord, which makes Arceus cry at its mistakes
The only cool thing about Skitty is that it is funny to think of it breeding with Wailord. Admittedly when I ranked the pokemon, I forgot about this fact, but there's too much I dislike about skitty to bother putting it higher. If you ask me, it's pretty ugly. I mean I guess it's cute in it's own way (that's what people say when your child is ugly all you current and future parents), but I guess my tastes in cute pokemon are more geared toward stuff like Darumaka and Swinub. It's another pokemon which needlessly uses the Moon Stone, even though the only real reason for this is that it's face sort of has a moon on it. According to its pokedex entries it basically chases it's own tail around a lot, which causes it to get dizzy and it is difficult to earn its trust. You would think that weaksauce pokemon would be easy to earn the trust of, especially when they have a habit of making themselves dizzy. It looks like (as of Gen 4) Skitty and Delcatty were the only pokemon with the ability "Normalize" which was kind of cool in concept because every move used by it had normal typing. This is kind of cool because you can do fun stuff like T-wave ground type pokemon, but overall it's not that good outside of novelty situations because you're not going to be SE against anything ever and you'll never touch a ghost pokemon or do much of anything to Rock and Steel types with the awful stats that Delcatty has. Its other ability is Cute Charm, which is ultimately useless because it's probably going to end up dead in one hit unless you waste your Focus Sash on it.

97. Bellossom Originally nominated by: Murphiroth First Appeared in:Pokemon Gold/Silver Gen 2 Ranking: 19/20 Fun fact: Bellossom being a pure grass type pokemon, is the only pokemon that is single typed that evolves from a dual typed pokemon.
I've somehow gotten hate for all of my writeups so far, but I think this one is going to throw a few others over the edge. Overall, I'm not a fan of grass type pokemon. Being that I can't remember a first-time playthrough of any generation where I didn't have a water and elec type, having a grass type in my teams just seems like a waste of space. In fact, I don't even remember picking a grass starter until my third paythrough of any particular gen. Still, my general disliking of grass types aside, Bellossom is bad for a number of reasons. First of all, it looks nothing like Gloom. I like my pokemon evolutions to at least have some resemblance of logic without being so similar that it's just the same but bigger (I'm looking at you Octillery and Muk respectively), and I just don't get it when I look at Gloom and Bellossom. Vileplume you can see the progression clear as day, but Bellossom looks like Gloom's 5th cousin that it awkwardly meets at a family reunion and he's questioning whether or not the blood relation is too close for him to not bang her.
Which brings me to the next point, in Gen 2 only three pokemon had multiple evolutions. Of course there was Eevee who's job it was to do such a thing, and there was Tyrogue who was Gamefreak's apologetic retconing to tell you "Yes Hitmonchan and Hitmonlee are related." And then there's Gloom who... why the hell did this happen? I honestly think I'd like Bellossom a lot more if it was just a singular pokemon, not related to any others or evolved from something else entirely, but giving a pokemon like Gloom a second evolution just doesn't make sense unless they were so desperate to make Sunkern not evolve from a leaf stone and needed more than one pokemon to justify adding a whole new kind of stone. But even then why are we catering to ****ing Sunkern?

From: SuorGenoveffa | #026 Politoed too.
I always forget Politoed, but rest assured although I like it's design better, I hate that it evolves from Poliwhirl for the same reason I hate that Gloom evolves into Bellossom.

96. Chimecho Originally nominated by: WhiteLens First Appeared in: Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire Gen. 3 Ranking: 18/20 Fun Fact: Chimecho is the lightest fully evolved pokemon
*Horse from Ren & Stimpy voice* No sir, I don't like it! Why do we need a pokemon based off of a freaking wind chime? The things sound awful IRL. And if you are going to make a windchime, why is it psychic? Chimecho could have been notorious for being the first pure flying pokemon, but they had to drop the ball and let an even worse pallet swap Genie thing take that honor. I don't really find this pokemon cute, which is obviously the only possible redeeming factor of it. It's Just another NU that I would forget about if not for one additional terrible thing. This thing stemmed the absolute most pointless baby in the game. I don't like many of the babies but Chingling is literally the only one that I saw and found it harder to justify than the name "Nintendo Wii." I remember one of the fake spoilers for B/W had something that looked like a Chimecho evolution and it seemed like it would at least be an improvement, but I guess it wasn't meant to be.

"I won't tolerate people who have different ideas." -Team Plasma Grunt
And on top of that, Chimecho was annoying as hell to encounter in RSE. I felt a little insulted when Chingling proved to be a common wild Pokemon, considering how rare Chimecho was.
95. Dunsparce http://pokedream.com/pokedex/images/sugimori/206.jpg?1299453640 Originally Nominated by: KirbyDamasta First Appeared in: Pokemon Gold/Silver Gen 2 Ranking: 18/20 Fun Fact: Uh... Bulbapedia doesn't have anything very interesting... so, Only Dunsparce and Kecleon can give Swinub the move AncientPower through breeding
I really don't get why so many people like Dunsparce Maybe it did something cool in the anime that I missed or something because to me it's just a boring pure normal type that doesn't evolve in a sea of more useful pure normal types (lol NU). It's really a shame because Dunsparce kind of looks like a pokemon that is really mediocre but could produce a kind of cool evolution but it's just been ignored for 3 gens. It's also without fail a pain in the ass to track down. I honestly would enjoy some pokemon that were a pain in the ass to get if it were a legit challenge, but stuff like Dunsparce, Chimecho, and Porygon are always just huge time sinks that you just have to put up with. I also don't really find Dunsparce cute or cool, at least not to the extent that I would put him any higher on this list. Maybe I'm just missing something, but it really baffles me that a lot of people on B8 not only don't find it forgettable, but actually really like it.

What can I say that hasn't been said. One of, if not the worst pokemon in RBY. I'm so glad I picked Squirtle on my first playthrough so that my rival didn't have this ugly bastard. Multiple head pokemon suck in 9/10 cases and this is not the other 1. Probably the only reason I placed him this high is because both Ash's Charmander and his Krabby evolved by pwning these stoners, so that's a minor plus. I could probably say more, but just go into another topic and look at one of their writeups. Pretty much my belief on it.

Originally Nominated by: WhiteLens First Appeared in: Pokemon Diamond/Pearl Gen 4 Ranking: 20/20 Fun Fact: Mantyke, along with the Beldum family and Volcarona have a lower catch rate than Dialga and Palkia.
I really want to like Mantyke because it's one of the few baby pokemon that was made to make sense. After all, linking Remoraid and Mantine in an evolutionary sense is kind of cool. However, I find it really difficult to like any of the babies past Gen 2 (Barring Rioulu which I dislike for other reasons) because I'm under the impression that their mothers are on drugs. Seriously, why do I have to do something special (giving the mother "incense") in order for it to come out of the egg? I'm sure it does something like expand the movepool of the final evolution or something but I'm not going to support that because they never make babies of anything that's good in a competitive sense. Off the top of my head, the following pokemon can now make crack babies... Mantine (NU), Mr. Mime (NU), Chimecho (NU), Snorlax (OU), Sudowoodo (NU), Azumarril (UU), Blissey (OU), Wobbufett (Ubers, but lol Wobbufett). There's also Roserade (OU) but it didn't exist before it's new baby so it's hard to say if the baby improved Roselia or not. The gen 2 babies were fine because they were a way to introduce a new mechanic, but these days Snorlax and Blissey are the only useful pokemon that make new babies and I doubt whatever the babies did for them made them more useful than they already were. I really don't get why Nintendo is so up their own asses about just Retconning something like the babies and not making them hold incense. They retconned Magnemite/Magneton, Bite, and Gust in gen 2 and they Retconned Lickilicky and Mamoswine into existence by Gen 4 (they could learn the appropriate moves to level them prior to gen 4), so what's the issue here?
Regardless, this writeup is supposed to be about Mantyke. Mantyke, like most of the babies really crosses the line into "too cute" for me to enjoy. I mean just looking at it, you can almost tell they wanted to make plushies more than they wanted to make a quality pokemon.

Originally Nominated By: xx521xx First Appeared in: Pokemon Gold/Silver Gen 2 Ranking: 17/20 Fun Fact: Pichu is the only non-legendary event pokemon to have an in game event based off of it.
The problem with many of the baby pokemon is that they try way too hard to be cute. Typically when a pokemon is already cute, trying to make it more "kawaii" ends up making it pretty sickening. Fortunately for Pichu, the result was a lot more pleasant than it was for say, Igglybuff, but the result is still there. Pikachu was already cute enough, though I can't really blame Nintendo for making their mascot have one of the 8 original babies. To be entirely honest, the only babies I'd really say I like are Tyrogue, Elekid, Bonsly and Munchlax, though I see the point in several of the others. Baby hate aside, Pichu at least makes sense unlike the Gen 3 and 4 birth defect babies, so it does get points there. However, it's Melee appearance was just stupid. In a game already cluttered with clones, Pichu was even less necessary than Roy. The only reason to play as it was to be a condescending ass to your "friends" and I'd much rather give up the idea of having a stupid sense of self satisfaction than to have my friends think I'm an ass and only hang out for me because they feel bad that I have nothing better to do with my time than practice using my Pichu on Final Destination with no items.
