Has he? IIRC, during the 2008 campaign, he stumped for ending the war in Iraq and shifting the focus to Afghanistan. It took three years, but all major troop forces are out of Iraq, and the death of Bin Laden is, if nothing else, hugely symbolic and evidence toward his claim of doing work in Afghanistan.
