Yeah I'm not saying Eddie wrestled in front of dead crowds, but there's a difference between a good match with a crowd that's into it, and a good match with a practically deafening crowd. Also the "match importance" thing as I said I tend to care-- I'd think a significantly smaller amount of Shawn's great matches are drawn from stuff like "random battle with Rey Mysterio on Nitro in 1997" or what have you. Not to be down on random good matches on free TV but good matches that actually have the build and setting to match are preferable and I think HBK crushes Eddie in that category-- I mean he's had more opportunities to deliver in those kind of matches so it's not really fair, but yeah. And it's not really fair doubly because "deafening crowds" kinda require those builds, but what can you do.
I also feel Shawn does better with guys that aren't on his level than Eddie does. Like Shawn's had pretty good matches with average big men like Crush in the past. Can't recall many times where I feel like Eddie's really had to carry people and done pretty well with it. Again, this may just be another case of "Shawn's had more opportunities" but yeah.
