Final Fantasy 7 is a mediocre Final Fantasy at best. Sure it was good for its time, but that isn't saying a whole lot. Final Fantasy IV and Final Fantasy VI are much, much better entries. Pokemon R/B is a freaking cult classic. You don't see how as much merchandise for Final Fantasy 7 as you do for Pokemon. Its obvious who was going to win.
I agree that FF6 and 4 are far and away the best FFs...but FF7 is still up there (my 4th favorite after FF6, FF4, and FFT)...and regardless of how it ranks, it is still geared more toward adults than Pokemon is.

I agree....it doesn't at all debunk the point of the argument (that Pokemon is for children) but I wholeheartedly agree with your post.

I've never beat a Pokemon game in my life(and played it in total under 5 hours), and I can say with 100% certainty that everyone that says that pokemon is "for kids and losers" is either a kid or a loser. Grow up people. They are good RPGs.
They are pretty awful as far as RPGs go. Without the "collection" aspect, the games would be incredibly unpopular. No character development, awful enemies, not much of a storyline, and the leveling up is pretty outdated.

Did you ever notice that Pokemon is pretty much the only video game series in existence (aside from games rated EC) that people claim is targeted exclusively towards kids? It's rated E for a reason. Why isn't Zelda for kids? It's rated E too.
