Even more annoying than those who are blinded by nostalgia, are those who counteractively shut their eyes to any notion that something in the past WAS, in fact, better than it is now.

You cannot TELL me today's cartoons are just as good, or rather, as plentiful in quality as they were in the 80's and 90's. The 80's were the renaissance of animation. I know that, and I wasn't even old enough to experience them when they were on. As for the 90's, make a comparative list of all the quality cartoons from the 90's, then one for the present. Then put them on a teeter totter and watch as the side with the 90's stack is so much heavier that it slams down so hard that it pierces through the Earth's crust, sending tremors that make the Great Wall of China quiver in its boots. And the Great Wall doesn't even usually wear boots; the tremors would convince it to PUT BOOTS ON just so it could quiver in them.
