Could be wrong here but I don't think THAT many people know "Link always wins" or similar.
Its been going so long its possible that number is like 50%+ of voters though.
Well I know, which is why he still always wins. But it applies more to those like Cloud and Mario, who are more likely to fall to joke characters or newer popular characters (like Red/Blue).
