what about after Tien trains with King Kai, and later after he continues training on Earth while Krillin settles down and marries?
2 things here.
1 the King Kai training would not help them that much (ok, Chiatzu maybe, since he was only like 600 at time of death) Goku came to King kai with a power level of about 412, King Kai is 3500. Or Piccolo against Nappa power. Yamcha and Tien are both well above 1500 when they get there. Catching Bubbles would not do much if anything for them. They don't learn the Kaio Ken or Spirit Bomb, so they hardly did any of the stuff Goku did.
2 Again, just going by what the manga says for that part. Though if you had your full potential unlocked, it stands to reason no amount of training would be able to surpass you.
