Meh, I don't really think so. The scenes where you get no choice in Squall's reaction do enough to keep it on track, I think, and you generally get no say on what he actually thinks in his mind. You usually only get a choice on what he says out loud, which are often two different things for Squall.
But you guys obviously don't agree with that
