actually, you somewhat can define sports teams as casual or hardcore. Yes, there are hardcore yankees fans. Yes there are hardcore steelers fans. But id bet you a higher percent of NY Islanders and Pittsburgh Pirates fans know more about the team's history and players than yankees and steelers fans.

Oh hey, look how you're defining the fans and not the team, meaning the team isn't casual. Once again proving my point.

... But you DO define the fans. They're casual gamers. They only play the casual titles.

You seem to be taking offense to it, and you shouldn't. >_>

So a casual gamer instantly becomes a hardcore gamer if he sticks Dark Souls into his PS3 for five minutes? Its basically what you're saying. You define the gamer strictly by the games they play, meaning all it takes for someone to move up to "hardcore" is to spend minimal time with a hardcore game.

And I do take offense, as people (so called "hardcore" gamers) try to downplay accomplishments of others because they give the game a stupid label. Nevermind the fact that they slap the "hardcore" title on themselves based on the games they play more than the time, skill level, and effort they have with video games.
