Its cool to have someone there with you to talk about it, but I've read so many posts over the years of low self-esteem having mothaf***ers wondering if they go to the movies *whispers* alone. Like everyone's gonna point and laugh at you in a dark room because you came there by yourself. I'm reading about people who actually felt PATHETHIC about going to see a movie by themselves. Like...what!? This isn't like going to a resturant where everybody's being social and you're sitting there alone acting like you doing something on your phone, or going to a dance without a date and feeling out of place without a companion. Its one of the most anti-social things mainstream audience pertake in. Whether you're with friends or not, you sit down, shut up, and watch the movie.
I will never understand the stigma of "omgosh Im going to the movies alone, I'm a loser now". Its one of the most hysterical, bizarre social phenomenons I've encountered on a regular basis.
Totally. Like I said in my first post, I go alone all the time, I see nothing wrong with it, and I'm quiet when watch, but I'd rather go with friends.
