I believe he was fatally wounded n the Nibelheim reactor, but I see what you're saying. You know, like that part in any action movie (or anime) where the guy gets that wound where he's knows its over and the soundtrack is like BWEEEOOOW, but he's still alive for however long to keep kicking ass. Really shook em up.
