Retro did very well for like 80% of the match, but the huge lead Valve built in the beginning remained until the end. Despite failing to achieve a doubling, the sheer number of votes Valve took was impressive. Naughty Dog vs. Valve ought to be a great match.
As for Retro, I think they could've moved at least a round further if they'd got enough nominations to avoid such a low seed.
