It's the battle between common sense and proper voting procedure. Both seem to point towards SM64 being #2, but common sense says CT is #1 and proper voting procedure says SMB3 is. I can't dock SMB3 for beating a ranked game, can I?
Proper voting procedure and common sense both dictate CT is #1. You have to go against both not to do so at this point.
Don't be silly and act like the "proper" thing to do is vote a 2-loss game (with one of those losses coming against CT) #1 because it beat FFVI by 2 votes.
You don't "dock" Mario 3 for beating FFVI. But you certainly don't reward it for beating it by two votes.
