Well, while I have you here, what was with Shinra rebuilding Nibelheim and pretending nothing had ever happened? Did they really think that not a single person who had ever been to Nibelheim would notice that everyone was gone and replaced by weirdos? Wouldn't it have been easier to cover it up, like they did everything else?
That, I'm not really sure about. Nibelheim's a pretty small town though, so it probably didn't get many visitors to begin with (Actually, there's a journal you can read in Tifa's house which says they only get a few visitors per quarter), which makes you wonder why they bothered to do anything about it at all. It's hard to say. I suppose it was more to cover up the truth about what happened to Sephiroth more than anything else, but I dunno.
Also: Sephiroth leaves his sword in President Shinra's body early in the game, but he later has it and it's never explained how he got it back? Or did I miss something?
He came back and got it? I dunno.
