Oh, by all means take the opinions of good players to heart (assuming you think they're town), I wasn't criticising anyone for that. The problem lies in not expanding on and/or not justifying the reason for supporting said opinions. If you're voting for someone "because of what X said" and give no reasoning of your own, then you're never going to learn anything. Not to mention you'll have a hard time being taken seriously. Talking to Frost late in Poker mafia felt like banging my head against a wall, but at least he had the excuse of being SK. I was half wondering if anyone would consider town to be that obtuse and unwilling to listen to reason, but as it turns out he handed town the game that night anyway, so it was all moot.
