Yeah but we're used to it by now. We had Henman and then Murray so it's not like it's a sudden thing. Well I suppose we had Rusedski as well but that US Open Final aside, he never really did much in slams.

I actually feel more positive about things this year.

James Ward lost in straight sets but he didn't play pathetically, he played half-decently and Llodra played well. Evans took a set off Mayer and didn't look terrible in the other sets.

On the women's side Baltacha, Keothavong and Robson all made the 2nd round. Webley-Smith fought bravely in her first round loss and wasn't that far off the upset. Heather Watson almost won whilst injured and would have certainly won if not for injuring her elbow (dropped 5 out of 7 services games after the injury).

There were plenty of 1st round losses as usual but it hasn't been completely humiliating losses where they didn't even look like they deserved to be on court at least.

I think at this time next year there could be 3 British women in the Top 100 (Possibly 1 Top 50) and James Ward pushing for Top 100 on the men's side. Not fantastic but far better than it has been for the last 15+ years.
