No, not really. It's pretty popular. 8 and especially 2 are the ones people think are weaker (and Shadow Dragon to a smaller extent). And it's not like Fire Emblem plots are often anything to write home about.
Good point about 2 and 8, but 10 is trailing close behind. And FE not known for its plots? Maybe not exclusively, not when it actually tries, its plot can be great (ie FE4).
