if your looking for faster games, sf4 and marvel wouldnt suit you too well, as theyre both rather slow. sf4 is really slow overall with like...short bursts of timing intensive technicality (lots of frame specific links) but its still really slow, brawls honestly faster than it. marvel, heavily character dependent but among the top tiers the only one that you'll really need to practice any technical things with would be mags.
melees much faster than all 3 of those games at any rate, if your looking for fast games you'll want mvc2 or guilty gear but neither of those are very popular. the fastest game with the biggest scene would be melee atm unless mvc2s scene is still alive but I was under all impressions it was pretty much on its last legs
